Gallup: Obama 46, McCain 43

Well, so much for the integrity of the daily tracking polls.  Who knows what is to be believed at this point.  There must be some methodological differences between the two outfits.

I realize this isn't much of a diary, but I wanted to calm down a few of the more nervous people here.

Polls are consistent within Margin of Error (none / 0)

No great mystery; the national popular vote is close. There isn't any great divergence between the polls.

Re: Polls are consistent within Margin of Error (none / 0)

Very true.  We're looking at fluctuations within the margin of error; the question is, where is the midpoint?

Small Obama lead I think (none / 0)

We should know more when we get some non-tracking polls later this week.

Methodological Differences (2.00 / 1)

Gallup is a real polling agency.
Rasmussen is a polling agency designed to push through Republican memes.
"Hey, check it out. You just had yourself a glue OD. So you're learning another lesson. Don't do too much glue, or your night sucks."

That said, it's all bullshit. I think Rasmussen still means we have to keep fighting this week.

I agree (none / 0)

Fight, fight, fight. Having said that I think the discrepancy is because Rasmussen adjusted his sample because he found less Dems last month.

State polls, state polls.  Those are the one's worth paying attention to.
